Adam schaff upright piano serial number 42524
I have an Adam Schaff upright piano serial number 42524. It has been in my family for about 30 years and the children have grown and no longer desire to play. It holds tune very well and it is in good condition. Can you tell me how much it is worth?

    Hi, emartinez.rovia!

Is it tuned up to standard pitch? Maybe not perfectly in tune, but up to the American Standard of pitch of A=400?

Do all of the notes play?

Do all of the pedals work?

Does it have a bench where the legs match the legs on the piano itself?

Are all of white keytops still there and in good shape without a lot of chips and discoloration?

What does the current finish on everything look like?

Exactly how tall is it, please?

    Thanks!

It is turned up to standard Pitch
    All the notes play
    All the pedals work
The bench matches the legs of the piano
It is in probably fair condition. There are some scratches on the surface. It is about 4 1/2 feet tall.

I added one more question to my post, and that would be about the condition of the keytops.

Are you sure about the height of it? I find that, with that serial number, that it's dated prior to 1920. 4.5 feet would be pretty short for a piano of that period.

The keytops... the ivories are not as ivory as I would like to look at them, it is faded. The blacks are faded as well. You can see the shiney black color on the tops of the blacks, but on some of the keys you can see the black has faded off.
The size... let me double check... I am getting 54 inches when I use the tape measure. That is 4.5 feet right?

I'm going to need to go to bed really soon, emartinez.rovia!

If you can also post some images of the instrument here, it would be helpful!

I really can give you an appraisal of it as far as possible monetary value. It will be an approximate dollar range of course, because I can't actually play and hear the piano.

I've been a piano/tuner technician since 1974 as well as a professional pianist for about the same length of time.

    Thanks!

Yes, 54 inches would be about 4.5 feet.

I really would like to see an image or images of it, if that's possible.
