I have a one year old male pekingese who just started to get aggressive about 2 months ago. It started when my females come into heat and I had my fathers male dog here. Now he is being aggressive with my one female dog. He will start attacking her outside when she starts to bark. Now he is getting aggressive with his food bowl when my female dog tries to eat he will not let her or if I try to put my hand by the food bowl he will snap. I have punished him to his cage. What else can I do to stop him from being aggressive.

Castrate him.

Is there other ways then neturing him?

Is there a reason you haven't had him neutered? That would be my first suggestion.

To be honest... not really no.

Whenever you buy a new dog or puppy you have to be prepared for worst case scenario - keeping that dog separated from the others for the rest of its life.

I know several people who have dogs that do not get long and they have to be permanently separated, the only reason they are not neutered is because they are show dogs.

I bought a new puppy recently and I am prepared for this now. The pup is only 6 months old so his hormones haven't kicked in yet... when they do, fights may start which means a lot of careful separation and swapping dogs over routinely throughout the day.

His crate is supposed to be his safety zone. Please don't use it to punish him. And by the way, the dog does not understand why he is being punished. He doesn't connect the aggression to what you do to him afterwards. Dogs and cats don't understand, don't think like humans. By shoving him into his cage, you are being abusive.

The aggression comes from being intact, from wanting to get to a female in heat and beat a rival who wants her too. Now it has gotten worse with the dog acting out in unrelated situations. Getting him castrated is the only solution.

The longer you wait, the worse the problem will be.

Neuter the dog. He is being territorial. Another dog being around his female who is in heat triggered it.
