Can water seep up through a slab foundation and soak my carpet due to a busted pipe?
When my dishwasher runs I get flooding carpet several feet away in another room. I assumed the dishwasher leaked, so I got a brand new dishwasher new hoses and ran it while it was in the middle of the kitchen floor, so I could see where the water is coming from. NO Leak in the hoses or water coming from the dishwasher! I think I have water seeping up through a crack in the foundation, but this only happens when the dishwasher runs. Could I have a cracked pipe that is partially blocked and only backs up when the dishwasher pumps water faster than it can drain? Please help.

The only way to see if pipe is broken under slab is to have a plumber run a camera down drain and into pipe. This will show u, real time, what is happening in pipe.

If slab is cracked and pipe broken or if u have high ground water, u could get water up.

    Something don't sound right here.
The dishwasher discharges into the sink drain line where it now leaks up from the slab. But when you fill a sink full of water and drain it nothing happens? The dish washer drains by gravity and not by pressure so discharging the dishwasher and draining a sink full of water should have the same effect. What am I missing here? Cheers, Tom

If the drain is cracked, water will not push itself up through concrete slab. You may have a slab leak.
