Just wondering if a complaint can be filed against a coroners office. My uncle passed away so we thought of natural causes in January, we just received pictures from his insurance company, not the coroners office of trauma to his head as if he was beaten to death, gashes and scrapes and deep cuts, yet the coroners report does not mention any such trauma to his head or skull. The coroner ruled it a heart attack. We do not believe this is the case, and wonder how they could not even mention the bruises and gashes all over his head and face?

You can file a complaint, but they determined the cause of death was a heart attack from the trauma, I assume. They weren't wrong, just stating the cause of death was not from the wounds. I guess this has messed up the life insurance policy then?

No, not from the trauma the report said he had a heart attack and must have collapsed causing the head injuries

No, my grandmother was still awarded the life insurance(the wife tried to impersonate my grandmother who was the beneficiary), it's the cause of death that we are concerned about, the cops really did not do any investigating. My uncle owned his own business, and he talked on his cell phone constantly. Between 11am and 7pm there are no phone calls, the person that found him owned the building he was working in, and said he found my uncle in the same position around 5:55pm, but, around 725pm, some was making calls from his cell phone number, the police department said they did not use his cell phone, his wife was given his cell phone later on that evening around 11pm. His face was all bruised up, my uncle wasn't weak man, but to us it look like someone hit him when he wasn't looking, but the cause of death was a heart attack, and non ruled a homicide. We don't believe the coroner tried to really look into his death. And on the night of his death someone from the police department called his cell phone after the time the person that found him said he was dead. Person that found him said it was around 5:55pm, someone from the local police department called his cell phone around 7:45pm, but they told us nobody would have used his cell phone. His wife admitted to talking to someone on my uncles cell phone after his death, but she refused to say whom.

Thank you for the response. I did read that thread, and we are not trying to get money out of this situation, the wife of my uncle or who claims to be his wife, hid his body for the first two weeks after it was released to her from the coroners office. The family did not know what funeral home he was in, we found out later his body had been moved two or three times. He was not cremated which is a good thing, but I can send you one picture as I noted to tickle, if it didn't look like he was beat up I would not be pushing this issue, but the report immediately ruled heart attack. I know the body works in mysterious ways, my uncle was healthy as person could be, and his wife claimed he had been sick for the past two weeks, but he was at my house a few days before he was killed and he was looking acting just fine.

Contained within the autopsy report will be a section headlined EXTERNAL EXAMINATION. That section should outline in very specific detail every cut, scratch, abrasion, scar, mole, tattoo, etc present on the body by location with precise anatomical reference points. In another section headlined INTERNAL EXAMINATION the condition of the heart, including the damaged portion will, amongst other organs, be fully described right down to the weight of each organ. Do you have this complete report? Probably 4-7 pages in length.

You can hire an independent medical examiner if you believe they are not correct
