    Blood pressure
Allo! One month ago, my blood pressure was 126/72, I was told this was a bit high because I'm a smoker. I've cut down over half my cigarette intake and this week my blood pressure was taken at 95/64. Is this normal? Oh and I'm 23yo

Normal is relative. Twenty years ago normal was120/80. Today that is considered border line hypo. Now the doctors want 110/70. I would say that 95/64 is low.

My statement is just an opinion, but I will say congratulation on cutting back on smoking. Put the money u save away and take a vacation with once a year.

Actually the new normal is 140/90, well that is acceptable, but borderline.

95/64 is very low, however was that a one-time reading?

We cannot diagnose blood pressure problems, either high or low, unless there are 3 separate readings at 3 different times.

Are you having an y dizziness or lightheadedness? Keep check on your blood pressure, if you have to use one of those machines at the pharmacy.

    Hi J-9

When was it raised to 140/90. My doc said that was border line hypertension.

7 years ago doc put me on pills when it was that high.

It's considered the high end of normal for approx 3 years now. Now, not all docs subscribe to this, and it is not a mandatory number as 120/80 is.

We now test 3 separate times on 3 separate occasions to determine consistency.

I don't really ever get head spins. But yes, this was a one time reading during a weigh in at a gym.
