Do dachshund puppies ears need taped
My Dachshund puppies ears won't lay down... is there anything that should be down to correct this, or will it correct itself over time?

Can you post a photo of the pups ears?

I don't know a lot about dachshunds so you would probably benefit more talking to your breed mentor about it. If you don't have one then contact the AKC for reputable breeders in your area who can advise you on what to do.

I do know a few sites that detail how to tape a natural ear to stay down, but it would be best to talk to a reputable breeder first to find out if the problem is correctable, or just a really bad ear set.

I will post this site now...

It's not for taping, but rather massaging, and really can't do any damage, unlike taping, where if you don't do the tape right, you can wreck the ears permanently.

Thanks... your post about taping lead me to a site that tells you how to tape and massage. I will definitely try the massage! Thank you for your help!

He us 13 weeks old... I read that some puppies ears will "fly" when they are teething, I will just try to massage them I guess... if they don't come down, they I guess he will just be different lol

    I have the opposite problem.

My puppy is 6 month and I am still taping his ears to go UP!
He is almost done teething and his ears are staying up for longer amounts of time between taping.

Taping isn't that hard once you get the hang of it. Getting it done correctly is very important though and I really urge you to talk to someone in person who has done it before.
I remember years ago my mom used to tape one of her Great Danes ears so they would sit down correctly... can't for the life of me remember how she did it though!
