When I flush the toilet, the water goes down but the toilet paper will not. However, if I squirt a little dishsoap in, everything flushes down with no problem. This has been going on for the better part of a year. There are no problems with the other toilet in the house. Any ideas?

Check water level in tank.Should be set 1/2 inch below top of over flow tube.

I will assume same paper in all rooms, right? Problem started a year ago so it must have been OK before that. Could be a partially clogged drain line or vent stack. If you flush with nothing in the toilet at all does it flush as fast as the othet toilets?

I'll have to check on that. It's my boyfriend's house and I am going on his word on the other toilet.
