I am working on a website that offers advertising services to small businesses but I also want to have sales people go out and sell them too. We have the first month free for online customers but here’s my question. If the first month is free online then how do I prevent potential customers from realizing that they could get my service for the first month free. I’m sure other businesses have had this dilemma. What is your advice or if you’ve experienced something like this, how was it handled?

I organized trade shows and events and ran into this problem. It was my experience that people would try to get that second (or third) month free as "new customers" BUT they didn't change their name and their address and their email and their telephone/fax number - so they were easy to spot.

If people are going to reorganize every month in order to get a month's free service there is probably no way to avoid it.

I used a comprehensive computer program which I wrote which immediately spotted doubles.
