I have an other one. This one I am trying to find a for a friend of mine.
We donot remember much of it, so if anyone can give the answer we will be very, very happy.

This is what we know:
It is some kind of hero story with a fantasy element in it
There is a group of people looking for an imprisoned girl
And they discover that she is held in a cave where gold (probably gold, since the walls were shining) is being delved.
Of course there was a monster there. You could not look it in the eyes, since one would become it's slave at that instant.
Near of at the end they save the girl and are on a wooden raft. A poisonous snake glides in the water. And my friend remembers something with a crown making everybody crazy. Two men start to fight. The scene ends with one person falling into the water with this crown, while being turned into stone. And the snake bites the girl and dies on the raft.

I have also been searching for this film for years but still have not been able to find it. I'm so glad someone else remembers it though.

I remember a few more details which I hope will help.

At the beginning of the film, the hero decides that he will go to rescue this fabled woman who I think is possibly the rightful heir to the throne. I think the king has the crown you mention (sort of like a laurel wreath maybe?) and he gives it to one of his men making him promise to help the hero. The crown has the power to see into the future but if the power is used a certain number of times then it will kill (or curse) the user. The first time we see it being used a vision appears in the reflection in a barrel of water.

They go off on their quest to find the woman and end up at the cave where I think there is a troll sorcerer who tells them a riddle that they have to solve to free the woman. The answer to the riddle is that she must be kissed but I think that looking at her turns you to stone. She is like a golden statue at the top of some stairs inside the cave and around her are the all the men who have tried to free her but looked at her and died. The hero closes his eyes and feels his way up to her and kisses her breaking the spell and the woman, the hero and the other fellow escape. This really annoys our troll friend.

As they are sitting by a camp fire while travelling through the forest, the king's man used the crown again and sees that the troll is going to cast a spell to set the woman's clothes on fire. The man manages to save her by ripping her clothes free which is misunderstood by the hero and causes a bit of a fight between the two men.

Then they make it to the raft and the troll magics up a snake to kill the woman but I think the man uses the crown one final time and manages to save her or bring her back to life after being bitten. Unfortunately, this causes him to be turned to stone and he sinks to the bottom of the river.

The hero and the woman make it back to the kingdom where she is welcomed and crowned queen but the hero is more or less ignored. He is not best pleased and I announces to her that he is going to go back to the river and (somehow) free the man. I think it might be that he is planning to sacrifice himself and this will make the other guy flesh and blood again. At the riverside, the woman turns up and says she won't let the hero do it alone.

After a tense bit of swimming around in the murky water all three break the surface of the water, the curse is lifted and all is right with the world.
