Using topical cream with Triamcinolone Acetonide during 1st trimester of pregnancy.
I've been using topical cream containing TriamcinoloneAcetonide on my face for the whole 1st trimester to treat inflammation. My doctor recently told me not to use it anymore. I've stopped using it since. Can using the cream on my face cause birth defects on my fetus? How worried should I be?

It's a possibility but with the limited use, and the small area you used it on, your baby would likely not be harmed.

It is in a class of drugs that would be best not to continue with if there were not a true medical need to do so. Your doctor acted in your baby's best interest to have you stop using it for now. Congrats on your pregnancy!
