Your vga 'socket' on the PC is where your monitor is plugged in to

I don't like to say Google to people but if you search "connect projector to pc", you will find many sources and many of them have steps and images to help out.

You have to press a combination of the Fn key (blue writing) + the key that has a video icon on it (it might be on the F8 key)

What operating system? There is usually something in display settings or somewhere that gives you the option to "connect to projector."

Do you also have your monitor hooked up at same time as doing this as there 'should' only be one VGA port on the computer unless more than 1 video card.

This may sound dumb... but you did adjust the focus on the projector... didn't you?

Do you know the resolution of your projector?
