Wires crossed and outlets no longer work
Today I was attempting to replace a wire that had fallen out of place on a cheap lamp I own. After putting the wire back into place, I plugged the lamp into an outlet, and all the electrical outlets in the room quit working. I'm pretty certain that in trying to fix the wires on the lamp, I accidentally left them touching, which then caused the blowouts. I checked the breaker and everything seems to be in order there.
I was wondering how much damage have I caused? Is this easily repairable, or should I call an electrician?
Thanks!
