John deere 155c pto won't engage
Okay here goes, my wife was mowing and got of the 155c to pick something up. The tractor died and I found the 20 amp fuse blown, I replaced the fuse twice and the tractor started up, but the mower would not engage. I replaced the electric clutch assembly and plugged it in only to find it still does not engage. The wires look good and are not loose. Where do I go from here?

Okay, here is what I had to do to get the PTO to engage, #1 Replaced the electric Clutch. #2 Reolaced the PTO switch. #3 Took the seat off and reassembled the safety switch which was coming apart. Once again this was after replacing a blown fuse twice because it blew twice. Probably had I taken the seat off and reassembled the safety swith I would not have had to spend $200.00 dollars on electric parts. But who knows? I tried the old PTO switch again and it would not engage the PTO. But my problem is solved and I hope someone with an electronic PTO can hain some knowledge from my experience or lack of.

I had the same problem and discovered that a weak battery does not supply enough power to start the mower. I found this out after jumping my tractor from my car battery. The mower would start while connected to the car but once disconnected the tractor would run but the mower wuold not start. I replaced the battery and BAM problem resolved.

Because I experience the same problem, but created by different issues, I just thought I would post my resolution also. Your frustrating trouble shooting process really help me a lot, thanks for posting .
