Recently purchased a used honda 3009 riding mower. It runs no problem but does burn oil on initial startup and when running at a lower speed when I empty out the bags on the catcher. When actually mowing there is no smoke. Any solutions? Thanks.

Sounds like you have a worn cylinder and some loose rings.
