Am I a fraternal or identical twin?
My mother had always told me I'm fraternal with my twin sister because that is what the doctor had told her before we were born. But I was reading online and doctors can commonly be mistaken.. Here are the reasons I'm confused:

    -We shared the same placenta
    -We are the same sex
-Everyone thinks we looks exactly alike
    -Same blood type

I mean what else is there to prove about being identical twins?

Must be from the same egg to be identical twins. Fraternal (dizygotic) twins stem from two eggs.

Identical have to be from the same eggs, so only the doctor who would have done early examines will know that.

I don't know how old you are, but when my twins were born some 42 years ago, the only way they made that determination was by examination of the placenta. If there was one shared placenta, they used it as an indicator that the twins were identical.

Sorry I really don't have an answer for you, because in today's world I think they have determined that two placentas sometimes fuse and appear to be one. I am sure that there are new and better ways now of making that determination.
