    Motivation
Hey guyz, I am almost half way through my IB final exams and haven't been doing too good. I was wondering do you know any motivational skills or any way to motivate myself? I have tried many but haven't found any that truly motivates me...

What is IB? Have you been studying all through the term?

International Bacculerate... Its like A-levels but slightly harder and new... You must choose 6 subjects from 6 different fields plus CAS, TOK and EE ): IB drains and yes many people have fainted... not just at the end but also at the beginning and mid-way through this course ):

I have been studying but now its exam time and with all the stress I have been failing to sit down and just study for 1 hour straight. I keep on wanting to sleep, use internet etc. Plus I use my laptop during studies so it is very easy for me to justt check Facebook now and then... I can't disable internet and stay away, I need something to keep my attention elsewhere ):

Why do you need your laptop for studying?

What used to work for me was a schedule for studying.

I would allow myself time to do what I wanted, say two hours of fun- anything but studying- and then I'd 'pay' for the free time, with an hour of study. Just one hour to start. Then as time goes on, figure out how much you have to know, how long it will comfortably take you to learn, and increase the study time to accommodate the length of time you have decided on.

So, you might start with three hours today, dispersed through the day, and increase by 1/2 hr the next, and 2 hours the next, and so on. You build upon what you have learned by adding to it, following a schedule, until you are ready to say, you know the material.

It helps to actually mark the study times on a calendar, after you've worked out the numbers.

It motivated me, because even though I didn't want to get down to it, I couldn't break the schedule, or I would not meet my goal of knowing the material by such and such a date.

Unfortunately, there is no motivational fairy that will help you be motivated. Being organized is the only way that you will get through it.
