I will be inheriting a small amount (roughly $35K) from a recently deceased family member. The family member lived in the UK was a UK citizen but I live in California. Will I have to pay any California or Federal Inheritance Tax or any other taxes on this money?

There are no CA inheritance taxes nor federal inheritance taxes, so no worries there. I do not know whether there are any inheritance taxes to worry about in the UK.

Thanks for the response. There is inheritance tax in the UK but the amount involved here is way below the amount above which tax has to be paid.
