I'm using my school phone where you have to dial 9 for an outside line.How do I call a toll free number from this phone? I need to call my insurance company and my cell phone is out of minutes :eek:

Dial nine to get an outside line, as you know, then the l-800 #. That is all there is to it. You don't get charged for an 800 #.

It must be a very busy toll free number. You just have to keep on trying, either that or get their regular number and call them collect.

Generally, it should be dial "9"; wait for another dial tone

Then 1, 800 etc.

Sometimes all toll calls are blocked on a phone. The system thinks anything called with a "1" is toll, unfortunately.
