I am looking for a film where a man is paralised in a hospital bed and he seems to have strange powers over a nurse I think, the only sequence I can remember is at the end of the film (where I think they turn the machine off which is keeping him alive) and he jumps out of the bed! Help anyone please

This sounds very loosely like Johnny Got His Gun - but "he" doesn't have special powers. He cannot speak or see but he manages to communicate with a Nurse through Morse Code and in the end the Nurse is forced to leave the unit and he is left there, in the dark - but he never jumps out of bed. It's an anti-gun, anti-war, cult favorite.

Thanks for that judykaytee, I have had a look at that film and its not the one. The man definitely jumps out of the bed at the end... help!
