A friend of mines was storing my bbq grill until I could find a house/apartment big enough to accommodate it. Well her husband and her went through a divorce, I contacted her to see if I could get my grill, when I went to get it , he refused to let me have it. What do I have to do to get my grill back from him

You have to sue him for the value of the grill. Do it in small claims court. It's quick, cheap and easy.
