I have a well for my water source. Recently, I have noticed much less water pressure. This happens especially when using two sources at the same time. My pressure tank is only a couple of years old and my pressure gadge is only about 5 years old. I checked the contacts on the gadge and found no shouting out. I can also see the gadge setting on 60psi then dropping to 40 psi before kicking on again. I have no idea what could be causing this difference in pressure when all has been working fine for several years. Can someone help?

Are you using any kind of filter/softener?

Yes, I have a softener. I was wondering if it could be the culprit. I have not maintained it like I probably should. I just add salt to the tank. How do you think that would affect the pressure? Do you think that cleaning the orfices could solve my problem? Thanks for your reply.

To eliminate the softner as a possible problem hit the bypass valve to take it out of the loop. Does this make a difference in your psi?
