How to file a discovery motion in CA court
How do I file a motion to compel discovery and a motion to dismiss charges in Nevada county California? I have been charged and arraigned on two felony charges. I have not been shown a police report or charging documents. I am completely in the dark and have no money for an atty. I asked verbally to discover the documents but was refused and advised by the judge to get an atty to file any motions. That would be just fine if I had the money to hire one.

If the Judge told you to get an Attorney to file the necessary motion(s) I would seek free legal counsel through one of the Court's sources.

Unless you have the resources and ability to search the law thoroughly you are going to be buried/eaten alive by the DA. This is dangerous territory and you will get one attempt at it.

You need to find free counsel.
