I'm trying to open a bank account that is not associated with my name or social-security number. I'm not trying to evade taxes or anything like that. Just trying to keep money out-of-sight in anticipation of a divorce. Can I form a corporatation or LLC, and get a taxpayer ID number for it, and open an account that way, without ever giving my personal SS number or name?

Sorry, this site does not support illegal activities. You cannot open an account without providing a taxpayer ID number, whether a business number or personal one.

And hiding assets from a divorce is fraud. In the event of a divorce you will be required to provide a FULL accounting of assets.

Sorry; I did not realize that what I was proposing is fraud. I should have asked if there is a legal way to do what I was hoping to do, and I'll conclude from your response that the answer is no.
