Hi, Does a kitchen sink require a trap or can you install a double basin sink without a trap? Both drain directly into line and no garbage disposal. Thank you

Hi Buddy
Yup! You need the trap. The trap serves to keep sewer gasses from entering the home.
You can use one trap for the two sinks. Here, you can use the run of a tee fitting just above the trap to pick up the first sink and the branch off the tee fitting to pick up the other sink... see image.
Let us know if you have questions...

Without a trap your house will be left with a direct open connection to the city sewer allowing sewer gas to enter your home. Sewer gas is harmful to your families health and the methane content makes it explosive. Trap the sink. TomQuote:

Hello Mark,
Excellent advice as usual I can't rate you would not let me, Thanks.

Agree with Mark and Tom... Yes, every plumbing fixture in your house has to be trapped.
