    My cat has a lump
My cat is getting older. He is about 11-12 years old. He has devloped two lumps on him. What could this be?

    Hi, kiterunner!

Where are the lumps on him, please? Also, is he in pain because of the lumps?

Some educated guesses might prove to be of value here. Although, you do realize, that the best that we can do here is guess. To really know for sure, it would be best to take him to the vet.

    Thanks!

They could be tumors, or cysts, or something entirely different. Only a vet can tell you for sure.

The lumps are on his side... kind of on the side of his leg. I don't think they are anything harmful because he has had them for awhile now... they almost seem like cysts.

Has a vet taken a look at them? Like I said, they could be anything. Only a vet can really tell you.

Yes, you do. You don't want to assume they're cysts just to find out they're tumors that need removed.

Yes, he has an apt this week with the vet :)

Good. While it's likely that they're harmless, it's always better to be safe than sorry when dealing with health issues.

As I said before, only a vet can tell for sure.

Also, this thread is almost a year old. To get more responses, start your own thread. I'm going to close this one, since it just gets cluttered to have old threads reopened.
