How long to continue Bicalutamide even 1 yr after IMRT in a case of Ca Prostate?
A 60 yr old man had Ca Prostate with dysuria. He was operated with Bilateral orchidectomy and TURP followed by Radiotherapy with IMRT. He is on Bicalutamide 50 mg daily for last one and half year. Radiation was completed about 15 months ago. He developed little bleeding per rectum and haematuria for very short periods following IMRT. His PSA was 17.0 before operation but after operation and radiotherapy it went down to 0.06 and now it is 0.03 units almost negligible. His flow of urine was fine after opn but then it gradually started diminishing. Post void residual urine remains fortunately insignificant. My question is should this person still continue Bicalutamide, if so for how long? He no more does have either haematuria or bleeding per rectum. Other wise he is O.K. and leading an active normal life.
