We Can Get Reading Glasses Without a Prescription. Are There Any for Far Vision?
    Hi, All!

Okay, I just got some reading glasses. Bought them at Family Dollar for $6.00! They work great!

Well, I was wondering that since there are reading glasses that are available over the counter, then are there also those that are for far vision that can be purchased without a prescription?

    Thanks!

Actually , at least in the US, you can't buy reading glasses in every state, some have laws restricting them. No I have not seen any glasses for near sighted without prescription

I just bought some reading glasses in Illinois that work great in conjunction with my contacts! I was also asking if there might also be those that are over-the-counter for far sightedness.

    Thanks!

I think you have the terms mixed up, Clough. Farsightedness is difficulty seeing things that are close up or nearby. Nearsightedness is the opposite, difficulty seeing things that are far away. As far as I know you cannot buy glasses for nearsightedness without a prescription anywhere.

Thisisit is right. And No you cannot. Honestly, I don't even approve of buying readers over the counter. They are not optical quality lenses which could mean that they could have abberations or distortions, they are not centered for your vision, they don't take into account the rest of your prescription (astigmatism/different vision in each eye/prism/etc.). It would be very unsafe to purchase glasses for nearsightedness over the counter (even if you could). There are places online to get cheap ones, but I wouldn't recommend any of those either.
