Hey,
I'm pretty late on this topic.. It is 2011.. But I have to share my experience anyways.
My dermatologist says that on the skin tone chart (it has 6 skin complexions), I am number 4.
Yet, when I look at the "von Luschan Scale", I associate my body parts' colors to swatches from 23-27 (which makes me number 5 on the skin tone chart. But my skin doesn't follow the "number 5" skin's property.. Number 5 skin is not suppose to tan or burn.. But I tan horribly, all the time.)
Take a look at the "von Luschan Scale" here - it will help you determine your skin color.

So I decided I would give NAC and Vitamin C a try. I went to the market (in Istanbul) and bought 30 capsules of NAC (200 mg each capsule) and vitamin C effervescant tablets (1000mg each).
Since I was absolutely desperate to get a lighter skin - I started with 3 X 200mg NAC twice a day ... That makes 1200 mg NAC everyday. After I swallow 3 NAC tablets, I take Vitamin C 1000 mg tablet. I have only done this for 4 days and I'm already yellower than before. My boyfriend noticed it and he asked me if I was ill because I looked so "yellow".
This evening when I was getting ready to go out, I just put on a lipstick - no foundation! Because I simply didn't need it as my skin was glowing and I have a more even color!
I had used hair removal cream my face several years ago when I was in school, and it burnt my skin - it left a dark melasma like mask in the area where we use the blush. And I tried to find that area today, it has almost gone away! Like something I had been living with for so many years, just faded away with no real effort or hope from me!

I don't know how you guys came to the NAC conclusion but my story is different. Someone very close to me is suffering from cancer. She was my complexion a long time ago, and when she started taking her treatment (chemotherapy etc.), she started to turn white like snow. All this was 7-8 years ago. I hadn't even thought about it until January this year. Then I did my research about cancer, chemotherapy, skin whitening - and of course the moment we type skin whitening plus cancer - thousands of results pop up talking about Glutathione. And then NAC. So that's the way I discovered it. I don't need any proof about whether or not glutathione can whiten skin, I have a live proof for that.

For those of you, who are nearly my complexion and exactly as desperate as myself - do try this regimen. I just know how it feels to want a change this bad. At least, everyone is guaranteed great skin if nothing else :) I just wanted to share my positive experience with everyone. Lastly, don't TAKE ORAL GLUTATHIONE FOR WHITENING, IT JUST won't HELP. Read on the internet about the low bioavailability of oral glutathione. Don't be a victim two scammers.
