What does set up for prove up mean
I've filed for divorce (dissoultion of marriage), The sheriff was unable to serve the other party because he no longer lived at the address. I filed a motion for publication and have since received my certificate of publication. The judge says that I need to amend my petition and set my case for prove up? I have a status call hearing coming up, what do I need to do next?

In my State - NY - this simply means that the case is ready for trial/hearing, will be a default (the other party won't appear), if you present adequate proof you will prevail.

Thank for the immediate response. So, I do I need to do anything prior to the court date? The judge didn't enter the certificate of publication yet? Should I set the case for prove up prior to going to court? Thanks.
