    How to exercise at home.
What are some good ways to work out at home? I don't have a bike--but that's next on the list. I do have two 10lb weights though.

Hey chihuahuamomma! Have you ever tried doing pilates?

You could start by watching pilates videos and trying out the moves as you watch them.
Here are some good ones. I recommend starting with a few reps then building onto it.

From what I've heard pilates and yoga is mostly for toning and not real cardio for weight loss. I'm working on a massive weight loss and need something that will give me the maximum results. I will look into the videos.

Pilates can actually help with weight loss a lot. My sister lost about 40 pounds by doing pilates! There are a lot of more vigorous pilates excercises too, but it's good to start with smaller ones and building up.

There is a bunch of stuff you can do.

First find out what your target heart rate is [in the chart below]. When your excercising you need to be in that area so you burn fat. If your able to talk as your walking or jogging then your not doing it!

Get a heart rate monitor, sometimes sport watches come with this or if you know how to find your pulse and figure out your own heart rate that's fine too.

Side note: the purpose of cardio is to elevate your heart rate for at least 20 min.

    You can:
    Run/jog
    Start cycling
Do jumping jacks [no kidding but they kill you a little, and the burn feels great]
    Jump rope
    Do burpees

Remember to stretch! So you don't pull anything or injure yourself.

I would also suggest you go here:

She has many [cardio] workouts, with or without weights, and they are fantastic! I do them myself.

    Good luck CM :)

Keep in mind what your eating/drinking also contributes to how much you lose.

Wow, that's a lot of advice. And thanks!!

What in the heck is a "burpee"?? I LURV jumping jacks, so that will be fun!

I plan to drink more water than I am, but the water in the new house tastes like bleach, so I'm going to be getting a Brita soon.

WOW, Boobs Magee. If you hadn't sent me that link I really would have overlooked it due to the unnecessary amount of boobage. My fiancée will get a kick out of this...

We had a Brita in the old house but for some reason it was left in the fridge... UGH!

OH, we called those squat thrusts in school. I can't do those yet either... too much weight on my wrist..
