My employer accused me of stealing money from bankings some 1300.00 in total I was manager of the store and the only person in store to do bankings all the figures matched i.e. paper work to bankings figures yet the bank states that when the sealed money bags were counted they were 1000 and 300 short on 2 occasions. I have categorically denied any wrong doing but have been dismissed and the incident has been reported to the police. I told my employer to contact the police as I have nothing to hide. What can I do as tese allegations against me are untrue how do I prove my innocence

Without knowing how the store handled money, deposits, banking, it is almost impossible to know what you could do to prove you are innocent. It might come down to your word against theirs.

Were there security cameras in the area where the money was counted?

In my area at least two bank employees open the money bags and count the money so I would say any shortage occurred between the store and the bank.

How can you disprove that or who else handled the money?

The cashiers place the money from tills into pods which go into the safe. Twice a week I would empty floor safe. Balance the banks against the sheet and fill out a banking slip, place the money in a sealed bag which is picked up by a security firm and picked up. They have safe keys as will the owner I t
Suppose. I am the only one whom has a key instore. There are no security cameras in the office where the cash is counted yet there are plenty in the store. They say the cash bags are checked by camera and the security firm has been used for 10 years. This they say proves it was me who took the cash. I can prove by bank accounts etc that I do not have this kind of money and I even took cash out of my account on the days this money went missing.

Just because you did not deposit the money into your account means nothing.

Was there some sort of a mistake made in the tills that were deposited into the pod? How many times do/did you count the money before putting into the deposit?

For that amount of money to be missing is quite odd. $1,000 and $300 amounts makes no sense to me. Why not $988 or $305? Why just even numbers?

Don't worry, don't say anything to the bank and don't police search you. Talk to a lawyer in person before you speak with anyone else, that includes police. If police bother you, just tell them nicely that you never been in a situation like this and want to have a lawyer with you under questioning. Again, setup an interview with a respected attorney in the area the bank is located. They're threatening legal action and take it serious but don't worry you'll do fine.
