These kids had to go through dimensions and had flying creatures as guides. I don't remember any more.

It's not Page Master. I remember that one of the dimensions had to do with time or something.

Do you remember any other details, even vague ones?

I think I remember something about there having to be a lot of energy to bring the children to each dimension (which is where the guides come in?)

Now it reminds me of wrinkle in time.
