I have a Scott's model 2048 lawn tractor. When I tried to mow my grass for the first time this season, the PTO stopped working after two passes. I turned the mower off, and restarted it and re-engaged the PTO and it started then stopped again. I can't see where any wires are broken and it is free of any debris. Is it possible that the clutch is not engaging to allow the blades to rotate? The PTO switch is a knob that you pull up to engage. Any thoughts. Thanks

I broke your post "free" of that other one, even though I got model wrong. Two things happen; the switch is bad or the clutch overheats and becomes intermittent.
