    He lied
The Obamacare legislation foisted upon us was supposed to lower the cost of insurance premiums. As I pointed out a couple of days ago the Senate is taking up a bill to regulate premiums because will not go down under Obamacare. He lied.

Obamacare was supposed to lower health care costs, "bend the cost curve." He lied.

Report: Health overhaul will increase USA's tab

    Quote:

President Obama's health care overhaul law will increase the nation's health care tab instead of bringing costs down, government economic forecasters concluded Thursday in a sobering assessment of the sweeping legislation.

A report by economic experts at the Health and Human Services Department said the health care remake will achieve Obama's aim of expanding health insurance — adding 34 million Americans to the coverage rolls.

But the analysis also found that the law falls short of the president's twin goal of controlling runaway costs. It also warned that Medicare cuts may be unrealistic and unsustainable, driving about 15% of hospitals into the red and "possibly jeopardizing access" to care for seniors.
Gee, have any of you heard any of these warnings before?

    Hello Steve:

Then repeal it, if you can.

Let me see if I can find a right winger who lies... Oh, yeah. John McCain, who almost was our president, says he never considered himself a maverick. Whaddya know about that?

John McCain saying he didn't consider himself a maverick has zero bearing on this discussion.

    Hello steve:

I don't know. The thread is entitled "he lied", isn't it? I just thought I'd point out that he's NOT the only one.

McCain certainly lied to the public about being a maverick and he was running as the republican candidate for president yet some think that has no bearing in a topic titled "he lied". Odd.

What part of Obamacare don't you geniuses get? Try as you may to distract from the subject I'm here to keep it on track. When someone initiates a thread on "McCaincare" or his "maverickness" you two can have it, but this one is about how "he," Barack Hussein Obama," lied through his teeth to the American people and the disastrous consequences of his, Barack Hussein Obama's, lies.

    Hello again, Steve:

I don't know why LYING has become such a hot button for you. It didn't bother you when people like Palin were lying about the bill. You don't think HER lies matter??

I'm back to what I said earlier. Repeal it if you can.

What we're discovering is many of those alleged "lies" by opponents weren't lies after all. So you do have a response to Obama's lies or not, because this is not about Palin either.

    Hello again, Steve:

Ok, I'll respond to your OP. IF the bill had been an Obama creation, it WOULD have lowered health care costs. But, laws aren't made that way here in this great country of ours. What we get is an amalgam.

So no, he didn't lie. He campaigned for something, and he didn't get it.

Now you're getting somewhere, but I'll have to disappoint you.

Obama: Give My Health Care Proposal An Up-Or-Down Vote In The Next Few Weeks

No longer would they be able to arbitrarily and massively raise premiums like Anthem Blue Cross recently tried to do in California.

    He lied.

The bottom line is, our proposal is paid for.

    He lied.

Finally, my proposal would bring down the cost of health care for millions - families, businesses, and the federal government.... But we do this while protecting Medicare benefits, and extending the financial stability of the program by nearly a decade.

    He lied.

Sorry to go off-topic, Steve, but any discussion of Democrats and truth forcefully reminds me of that magnificent quote from our first black president: "It all depends on what your definition of 'is' is."

Clinton Lied, Bush Lied, W. Lied. This is what they do. So is the point of this post to point out that politicians lie? I don't get it. And don't give me well he is the messiah BS line cause the only people that call him that are Republicans.

If there was a decent search mechanism at this site and I put in the phrase Bush Lied .I wonder how many hit's I'd get from the last decade. Didn't hear too much "they all lie "rhetoric then.

This plan sounds an awful lot like his campaign plan. Not only did he lie before, he lied after:

    Quote:

This legislation will also lower costs for families and for businesses and for the federal government, reducing our deficit by over $1 trillion in the next two decades. It is paid for. It is fiscally responsible.

Spit, no presidential candidate in my lifetime has campaigned on as grandiose of promises as Obama, on a worn out theme of "hope and change," promising the utmost in ethics and transparency. This is the guy who claimed his election would be "the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal." This is the guy whose mind-numbed followers granted him Messiah status . We are mocking his mindless followers in calling him the Messiah, the ones who promoted him to the level of deity. God doesn't lie, so he must not be God at least.

The only thing I have to say is that it was always a very silly proposition that adding multitudes onto the public dole would reduce costs.

The only time Obama doesn't lie is when his mouth is closed or his teleprompter takes a dump and stops working.

The report on which this thread is based was delivered to Obama's HHS Secretary more than a week before the vote:

    Quote:

The economic report released last week by Health and Human Services, which indicated that President Barack Obama's health care "reform" law would actually increase the cost of health care and impose higher costs on consumers, had been submitted to the office of HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius more than a week before the Congressional votes on the bill, according to career HHS sources, who added that Sebelius's staff refused to review the document before the vote was taken.

"The reason we were given was that they did not want to influence the vote," says an HHS source. "Which is actually the point of having a review like this, you would think."

The analysis, performed by Medicare's Office of the Actuary, which in the past has been identified as a "nonpolitical" office, set off alarm bells when submitted. "We know a copy was sent to the White House via their legislative affairs staff," says the HHS staffer, "and there were a number of meetings here almost right after the analysis was submitted to the secretary's office. Everyone went into lockdown, and people here were too scared to go public with the report."
Pelosi is still spot on, we wouldn't know what was in the bill until they passed it... purposely. Obama lied.
