Remote control ceiling fan problems
A few months ago I installed a new remote control (no chains) ceiling fan . Surprisingly had a burned light bulb already (mini halogen) It was suggested on an internet post that my voltage may be high an I could purchase a 130v bulb instead of a 120v. So because I was too lazy to open up the fan and undo the wires for checking the voltage I from the top of a ladder stuck my tester's needles directly into the narrow socket with the power on. I of course created and heard a short almost right away before I could get a reading. The really cool thing is that it started my fan by itself. Ok, it's not that cool, now, if I turn the wall switch on the fan is on full blast regardless of what I do with the remote. The only way to turn it off is to flip off the wall switch. Fixable? Good puzzle? Or not even?
