Monday my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex, I checked to make sure that I had not started my period yet, because I knew it was coming some time soon, I am not on birth control, that day I started having a bloody brown discharge, not enough to really do any damage, just a little here and there... what could this be, could I be pregnant, would that really happen that fast? Confused, and need answers, please and thanks to anybody that can help me...

It is likely from your being so close to the start of your period. Have you actually started it yet or was that the only discharge you have had? When are you actually due for your period?

You wouldn't see obvious signs of pregnancy just yet... the egg, if it were indeed fertilized, would still be on its way to your uterus.

Having sex just before your period is due is probably the least likely time to become pregnant, but don't think it can't happen. Are you hoping to get pregnant or hoping not to be pregnant?

Obviously, if you are going to have sex, and you want to lessen the odds of becoming pregnant, use some protection. You have to protect yourself, even if your boyfriend doesn't want to... he is not the one who can become pregnant. It simply is not worth the risk of an unplanned pregnancy if that is what you are hoping to avoid. No one thinks it will happen to them; that it happens to someone else... but remember, to other people, YOU are someone else.

Odds are, all will be well, but you will have to wait and see when your period starts. If it is irregular this month, see what happens when it is due next month. Hope it turns out how you would like it to!
