I have a Craftsman lawn tractor with auto transmission and Kholer engine, was cutting the lawn and my main drive belt burnt up, after replacing the new one it seems that the tractor does not want to drive forward (very slow) it will drive in reverse (Fine). I have checked the belt several times to make sure it was installed correctly and also the belt riders, and all seem to be free. I have a slight hill and it will good down while picking up speed but will not go back up the hill.

Do you know why the belt burnt up.

Would guess that it is a matter of proper tension. First thing is to figure out why the belt failed.
I have a few diagrams at the site in my sig; just pick EHP and Drive.
