    Mysterious water leak
I have noticed that when I turn off the water in my kitchen sink, I hear the sound of water dripping coming from upstairs under my bathtub for 10-15 seconds. I am having a hard time locating the source of this drip. I assume its caused by a supply line but I wanted to ask a pro first for their opinion. Also, I seem to only hear this drip after using the hot water.

Is the kitchen sink under bathroom?

If supply line was leaking, it would be constant.

One of the plumbing pros may have a better idea.

    Good luck

Its probably just expansion and contraction of the pipe and its rubbing against a structural member of the house. Nothing to worry about most likely.

    Hi all:

As Chayn has indicated, this sounds like an expansion/contraction issue, especially being established in connection to a hot water pipe... ;)

Here, pipes can actually get overhung and in turn don't leave room for the pipe to expand as it needs, too.

At this point, if you don't see anything I wouldn't worry at all!
