    Gardens and lighting
I recently planted two raised beds with tomato, peppers, cucumbers, and some watermelon. The beds, although in a perfect place in my yard are near a utility pole which hase a 400w sodium lamp on it. Has anyone had any experience with this type of situation, and if so does the fact that the plants have a "night light" affect the growth or health of the plants? Moving the beds isn't a possibility, and the light is a dusk till dawn light supplied by the electric company. Any thought or suggestions?

Not a good idea to put plants under a night source of light. This will definitely confuse the plants. You could end up with sickly looking plants. Couldn't you have picked another spot to plant this stuff in? Or you could "tent" the plants at night to keep them free of the excess light from the street lamp.
