Assalamoalaikum,

I am Dr.Maha from lahore .My question is: is Nikah over webcam where both parties can see each other clearly in the presence of witnesses allowed in Islam? I am engaged to a person who lives in USA and we want nikah over web cam where both families will be present.This way paper work will be started and proper marriage will be celebrated in December so I will be able to go with him. Is there any need to re-do nikah when both bride and groom are present?Answer me please.

I doubt it legal in ANY country let alone Islam.
I'm sure there's a legal requirement for both parties to be physically in the same place in the presences of the marriage official.

Yes I have seen many such cases since my childhood,but for myself I want an expert serious opinion please.
