Well with the number of really dumb "National Days" why not have one that a large amount of the population can relate to?

My son said the police were in his school that day with dogs to sniff it out of lockers.

Incidentally, do you know they actually took cellphones away and looked at text messages to see if they could find info on students and drugs that way. Not all students just ones they suspected. Isn't that illegal? Should be.

The never bothered my son but I do think they went too far with the phones. The school principal once called him down to the office for putting goldfish in a girls locker... they were alive and in a plactic bag. ( big deal) I don't know why he did it.. stupid. BUT they called him down and insisted he knew about kids that were stealing from lockers. Said they had HIM on cam WITH them, they wanted names. Brought a cop in a showed him handcuffs. My kid was innocent, knew it and he was in complete shock. The principal called me later to tell me he was in trouble for putting goldfish in a girls locker. ( I knew he bought the goldfish the night before)... She told me they were" kinda hard on him". I told her that was fine and he shouldn't have done such a boneheaded thing. ( I really just chuckled) but later he told me what they REALLY did and said. Made me furious. Sorry... totally off topic.

My sons Senior year on 4/20, some one started a rumor about a bomb threat a week before.
Letters were sent home, so you could decide to keep your child out of school or not:rolleyes:
