A really good friend of mine asked me to help out with a video project for her English class. When I helped out I met one of her friends, and he was really cute and sweet. I've been talking to him on Facebook for a while and the three of us have been hanging out a lot together lately. A few days ago, my friend told me that she likes him, but she told me that she thinks that he likes me and not her. I really like this guy, but I haven't told anyone because my friend has had really bad luck with guys lately and I wouldn't forgive myself if I hurt her. But I really like this guy and I have no idea if I should tell her or not. I'm really worried about what to say if he tells me he likes me, I don't want to hurt his feelings because he's so funny and sweet.

Don't ruin your friendship over a guy.. Maybe You'll Find Someone even Better Then this Guy=)

You tell him the truth, honest to god truth. It is the best option. Tell him that you would go out with him/or date or whatever/ if your friend didn't like him too. Because your friend likes him and she has known him longer, it would not be right for you to date him. And on a side note, if your friend really likes him and he goes for her next, it is not right for the two of them to date either because you like him. Friends have to sacrifice for each other. Its what they do.

Does your friend even know that you like this guy at all?

And no, she doesn't know that I like him, only one person does and she doesn't know either my friend or the boy so she doesn't have a bias opinion. I agree with your advice, but I don't think that she should have to not date him, seeing as how she doesn't know I like him. Or should I tell her that I like him?

No, I would keep that you like him to yourself. It could hurt her feelings if she knows. But yes, I would tell him that you can't date if he asks you out. If not then everyone is good.

Believe me, more girls lose friends over bfs than you'll ever know. Don't be one of them. But as for if she goes out with him, I don't think that's fair to you. I don't know what I'd do about that one...

Sweetie.. Boys will come and go in your lifetime, but a true friend will be there forever. Larken is right, don't lose your friendship over a guy. There will be others. Good Luck:)

A boy isn't worth losing a friendship trust me. Exactly what they said maybe you are meant to be friends. If he wants you then he might ask you to go out but if you have a good friendship with him and you like it that way keep it that way and see where it goes. If your comfortable being around him and talking to him stay friends but if things are getting awkward leave it alone for a while and don't talk to him as much. This is what I think, I don't know the exact situation so I can't say much. This is my opinion

Nah dude. Don't stop being friend w/ him. I think differently thou. I think you should tell you friend the truth, because she might feel betrayed later that you never told her and might think that you are trying to get him. Continue being friends w/ him, if he really likes you he will feel the same way in a couple of weeks. And you never know, your friend might stop liking him and help YOU out! When you tell your friend the truth, and she's REALLY your friend she will support whtever you do even if that means letting you go out w/ him. Trust me, I know how your friend feels. I've been through that. &if I was your friend I'd rather you tell me yourself how you feel w/ the truth than finding out by somebody else. :)

Hey! I am in the same deal!! I am sorry but I will give my say on this but I am ggoing to ask some more questions too!
My friend knows, she thinks he likes us both (but he looks at her like he does any other girl) we came up with she would let me ask him if he likes her just to do a little check, and no matter what he says we will be friends and she will ask him out (My mom and dad donn't want me dating much yet) and if he says no it is most likely for the best, but if he says yes I will be sad! I did not tell her this, but it might make me cry, and she just met him I have known him for 5 years and liked him for 2! She has only known him for a month at the most!! I really need help too! Do I tell her I would be sad and see if she will not ask him out or do I just become a third wheel with my very good young child hood friend!
