My Hunter Fan works but the light doesn't, I have two similar fans I have exchanged the light kits and the light kit will work on another fan. Therefore I believe that the problem is in the fan unit and not anywhere in the light kit. What do you think?

Open the canopy and locate the wires coming out of the receiver, should be at least a black, blue and white. Test across the blue and the white while you press the remote to turn on the light, get a reading?

Is it a remote fan? Did the light ever work?
