The brand is not so important. What you want to look for are pills which contain folic acid. DHA is also an important element.

I took the Rite Aid brand as it had all of the proper vitamins and minerals in the proper dose. My doc was happy with my decision.

You should get some good quality vitamins at your local drug store until you can get to your dr. they can get you on a prescription vitamin... More $$$ but they are better quality tastless and tiny not jumbo sized like you've probably noticed =)

Think of the vitamins as insurance since most people probably don't eat as well as they should, even in pregnancy. Generally about 200-300 mg of DHA and at least 400 mg of folic acid should be adequate considering you will get some from food/drink intake as well.
