For some reason the lens won't work. When I turn the camera on, it opens and closes three times and then stays closed. Even if I pull the lens and make it stay open, the lens does not work, and no pic is shown on the screen. The screen says to turn my camera off and then on, but that clearly hasn't worked. I don't know how it broke. One minute it worked, and the next it didn't.

Looks like it is software problem. Pull out the camera instructions and find out how to (manually) to reset your camera. ( not the reset using Menu ). If reset doesn't work, call Sony. They will guide you over the phone with their reset. If that doesn't work, you will have to send it to Sony for repair.

Chances are that you wedged the camera between a tight space. If the lens won't close, then you should try to gently push it with a screwdriver or something. Make sure you are gentle. The same thing happened to me, and now my camera works fine. Hope this helps!
