my bathroom is 5'w x 6'6"l.the toilet is 2" away from the tub and I want to move it over 1 ft. so I can put in a soaker tub. The joists run the width of the room. A contractor said in order to move the toilet the joists would have to be cut because of the flange. I have seen picture and they show the pipes and flange in between the joist which are 16" on center. Am I getting good advice from my contractor. Please help.
