Briggs and stratton fuel pump leak
I was given an older Troybilt lawn tractor which has an 18 HP B&S engine. When I got it home, I jump started the engine and noticed a fuel leak around the carb. I secured the hose that feeds the fuel pump and it seemed to fix it. I used the mower for about an hour and then parked it. Later I tried to restart the engine and noticed major amounts of gas coming out of the front hole of the fuel pump cover. Anyone know what the problem might be? B&S 18 hp. Mod #42A707 type: 2238 E1

If fuel is coming out of the pump housing its likely a cracked diaphram, usually not worth trying to fix, just buy new or rebuilt

    Hi,
Two kits exist with the number of screws being the easiest way to tell the difference. Three screws is most common and is part# 393397.
    Peace,
