I was driving in a residential area and there was a car in front me making a left turn at the stop sign, after the car made the left turn I proceeded to stop and made the right turn. Before I complete my right turn I already saw the police car behind me and stopped me after I completed my right turn. The police officer asked for my driver license, registration and proof of insurance. I realized that my wallet was missing and I failed to provide the documents. They gave me 3 tickets; 2 tickets for failure to exhibit documents for driver license and registration, additional ticket for failure to stop or yield. I wanted to contest the ticket because I know that I stop before making a right turn. How can I contest all the tickets. Any suggestions?

You can plead not guilty. There's a place on the ticket telling you when and where to appear if you want to contest it. A ticket IS, after all, a summons.

Yes you can merely plead not guilty and prove that you really showed these documents to the police officer.

Normally if you appear in court with them, the judge drops those, an since the officer can look them up when you give him your name, seldom do they ticket unless you get mouthy with them?

Next most likely your "stop" was a rolling stop, and your car did not appear to be a real stop. I heard that "I STOPPED my car" a 1000 times when I was a officer, and watched their car not fully stop.

You wallet is missing? Stolen? At home? I don't know how you are going to fight charges of driving without the proper documents when you, in fact, did not have the proper documents with you.

You will appear and argue you did stop. The Police Officer will argue you didn't - or else why did he bother stopping you?

The Judge will believe one of you.

EDIT: I will add this note and I was pretty steamed at the time. I drove a hot, fast car and live South of the crest of a hill. I backed out of my driveway, drove less than 200 feet (I was still in second gear), car passed me (across the double yellow), Trooper came over the crest and stopped ME for speeding. He had the wrong car! I explained to him and I explained to the Judge.

I lost. I couldn't have been going 65 in a 45 if I had jets on the back of the car, not backing out and then kicking into first. Judge didn't see it that way and said, "Why would the Trooper lie?"

Life is not fair.
