I have a long video file that I want to watch but I don't have time to watch it all at once. Is there a (free or cheap) program for that can resume videos after you quit and restart it? I have looked for something that can do it on Google but I can't find any.

As far as I know, there's nothing like that for video files. My mac does that for dvd's, but not for files on the computer itself.

You could always make a note of the timestamp when you stop, so you can pick up where you left off.

If you use VLC, you can go to the playback menu after opening a file and type in an exact specific time to jump to if you make a note to where you left off.
