Does the Apartment Management have the right to require I put my 18yo son, his 20yo girl frind and my 76yo father on my lease which makes them responsible for the rent (As well as myself)? I made them aware my dad has dementia and I have full Power of Attorney for him. My son and his girlfriend are splitting up and I want both of them to move out and get off the lease. Anyone with advice please? Thax

If they are adults living in the house, then I am fairly certain Apartment Management has this right.

I'm confused about the issue with your son and girlfriend breaking up. If they're breaking up, you don't put on the individual who is moving out. Are they already both on the lease, guess what? They are already both on the lease, and bound to its terms.

As giJ said, they can require that any adults occupying the premises sign. Since you have a POA for your father, you can sign for him.

As for your son, give them a date when he will be moving out.

Yes - all adult residents need to be on the lease.
